How to Enjoy Sculpture : a Brief Guide to Art in Three Dimensions
Angela Cox
The lecture explores the range of art that can be defined as sculpture with examples from classical antiquity to the present day. Until the 20th century a sculpture was a solid object of constant shape but no more. Sculptures now may move change shape or even disappear.

This will be our AGM too.

Windsor: Fire, Restoration and the Queen at Windsor
Oliver Everett
The oldest and largest inhabited castle in the world and the Queen’s favourite weekend home.
In 1992 fire destroyed or damaged more than 100 rooms at the Castle. By good fortune the rooms worst affected were empty at the time, and as a result, few of the Castle’s artistic treasures were destroyed. The highly acclaimed restoration work, completed in 1997, is a testament to the extraordinary skills of some of the finest craftsmen in Europe.

This lecture looks at the watercolour paintings commisioned after the fire and restoration, the way the Castle is used and also considers the incomparable collection of Old Master drawings.

We are organising a visit to Windsor Castle on Monday November 8th to link in with this very exciting talk. Click here for further details
