Kelmscott Manor visit – 20 May 2010

KELMSCOTT MANOR, Lechlade, Gloucestershire.
Kelmscott Manor was the country home of William Morris – poet, craftsman and socialist – from 1871 until his death in 1896. The house contains a collection of the possessions and works of Morris and his associates, including furniture, textiles, carpets and ceramics.

There will be an introductory talk, followed by a guided tour of the House, with time for refreshments and a look around the garden. In the village are cottages designed by Webb and Gimson and the Morris Memorial Hall (also Gimson).

Bookings now being taken. £40 or £32 for HHA members, cost includes morning coffee, lunch and afternoon tea, coach and entrance cost. Only 3 places left as of 7th March, don’t delay booking!

Tate to Tate Tour 22 July 2010
Enjoy both Tate galleries in London and a trip on the Tate Boat. Starting at Tate Modern with a general highlights tour of the permanent collection and learn some of the fascinating stories behind the works on display. Then take a trip along the Thames and find out more about the collection of art at Tate Britain

Liverpool 13-15 September 2010

Three day trip to Liverpool, visiting Chester and Port Sunlight, including a visit to see the Anthony Gormley statues on Crosby beach. Visiting Little Moreton Hall for an exclusive tour on the way home.
