After a day of museum hopping or shopping, enjoy a swim in the indoor pool or visit the gym. There is free WIFI in all rooms of the hotel.
The visit will include a variety of places of interest in Liverpool and the north-west.
Super Lamb Banana- one of the most well loved of Liverpool’s out door art
On the journey to Liverpool we will call at Port Sunlight and visit the Lady Lever Art Gallery for a guided tour.
In Liverpool we will visit the Liverpool Cathedral, described by Sir John Betjeman as ‘one of the great buildings of the world’ for a guided tour of the Cathedral and of the Elisabeth Hoare embroidery collection. There will also be a visit to see the Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King. In the afternoon there will be a guided tour of the Walker Art Gallery. We hope to arrange an optional trip the Liverpool Playhouse in the evening.
On the way home we will stop at the Crosby beach to see the Anthony Gormley statues called ‘Another Place’ which consists of 100 cast-iron, life-size figures spread out along three kilometres of the foreshore, stretching almost one kilometre out to sea. Contractors spent three weeks lifting the figures into place and driving them into the beach on the-metre-high foundation piles.

After the Gormley statues we will now go to the small Cheshire village of Astbury, just south of Congleton. We’ll have lunch there at the Egerton Arms, an old coaching inn. We hope to arrange for the village church which is just opposite to be open. We’ll then move on to Little Moreton Hall, a National Trust property and one of the finest examples of a timber-framed moated manor house in the country for an exclusive tour!
Cost is £240 per person, single supplement of £40. There is an additional charge of £5.80 for non National Trust members.
