Visit to Windsor Castle
Monday – 8th November 2010
Windsor Castle is the oldest and largest occupied castle in the world and its history spans more than 900 years but, as a working royal palace, the Castle plays a large part in the official work of the Queen and members of the Royal Family today. The magnificent State Rooms are furnished with some of the finest works of art from the Royal Collection, including paintings by Rembrandt and drawings by Leonard de Vinci and Queen Mary’s Dolls House, is a masterpiece in miniature. St George’s Chapel is one of the most beautiful ecclesiastical buildings in England and the burial place of ten monarchs.
This visit will be a useful compliment to the October lecture by Oliver Everett. Click here for further detals of that talk.
