Heritage Volunteers

An enthusiastic group of heritage volunteers meets regularly and works to assist professionals in several areas.

At present the volunteers' main project is at Wigston Record Office cataloguing architectural drawings in 19th century planning applications.

Previous projects have included cleaning books in the antiquarian section of the University of Leicester library and cataloguing artefacts at the Newark Houses Museum.

We continue to look for new projects that the volunteers might undertake.  If any members have suggestions, Isabel Oldham on 0116 241 3627 would welcome all ideas.

Church Recorders

Leicester Church Recorders have just completed  a Church Record for a Church in Wanlip, Leicestershire.  Below is the certificate presented to the group for their work by the NADFAS Education & Conservation  Department.
